Justin Broadrick has gone down in history of music extreme due to his temporal appearance with Napalm Death. However, his name has become more famous for being involved with Godflesh- the pioneers of industrial metal. The band came into being in 1988 in an industrial Birmingham. They magnificently blended the force of metal guitar beats with steady, cold percussion loops and diverse noises. Justin and G.C.Green, who assisted Justin from the very beginning, were most of all inspired by Killing Joke, Throbbing Gristle and Swans, although they admitted to drawing inspiration from Leonard Cohen’s works. For almost three decades, Godflesh has made a lot of terrific and very experimental music which can be heard on for example such albums as “Streetcleaner” (1989- so any day now they will be celebrating their 30th anniversary of the premier), “Pure” or “Songs of Love and Hate”. Justin’s band inspired an array of artists such as find Prong, Fear Factory, Nine Inch Nails and Ministry.
